Effects of the flavonoids on the hepatocyte death induced by the CCl4. The cells (106/ml) were pre-incubated at 37°C in Eagle medium for 2 h followed by the 40 mM CCl4 addition and suspension was incubated for 2 h. In some cases chamiloflan (500 μg/ml) or AP7Glu (30 μM) were added to the culture medium 2 h prior the CCl4addition and cells incubated for 4 h. Control cells were incubated in the presence of 30 mM ethanol for 4 h. To determine the cells viability, the trypan blue exclusion into hepatocytes and LDH release into supernatant have been studied using commercially available kits. Results are mean ± S.E. of six experiments performed in duplicate. * P < 0.05, CCl4-treated vs. control; ** P < 0.05, CCl4+flavonoid-treated vs. CCl4-treated.
